Easter Blessings

Things have been busy around here - we celebrated out son's birthday yesterday, and my husband's birthday is Easter Sunday.
I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a joyous and blessed Easter this weekend!

God bless you all...

Rustic Romantic

Two tarnished old utilitarian pitchers have been sitting in my kitchen cupboard for quite some time.  Sitting and waiting...to be paired with pretty flowers!  I've always loved the contrast of the rustic and the romantic.  These pink hydrangeas were a recent purchase at the grocery store.  They've got a lovely soft pink color to showcase against the tarnished metal of this pitcher/can/whatsit(?):

This romantic match-up provides some nice texture amidst all my whites...

Speaking of whites...here we have another vintage pitcher/can holding dried baby's breath:

More texture to enjoy...

Spring has me busy cleaning and planning a new Etsy collection. Stay tuned, friends!

Spring Fever

This spring the color lavender is really speaking to me.  Especially when the color is a soft grayish hue.  I decided to dye some ribbons and doilies to satisfy my lavender craving.
These ribbons used to be white and after some Rit dye they now look like this:

I love how they look wrapped around my decoupaged Easter eggs and vintage spools:

The doilies in this basket got the same treatment.  They turned out a bit darker, since their original color was more beige:

I'm enjoying seeing these soothing colors in my living room, along with more spring touches sprucing up all the whites:

The daybed corner has some cheerful spring elements...

It's a romantic place to sit, under this lovely image of Little Madonna.  I did end up painting her frame white.

Well, it's quite a relief to look out my window and see all the snow we got Friday has melted quite a bit.  Spring will be here before we know it!

Dried Flowers

Hello friends!  Things have been hectic around here lately, but I wanted to share a small project from a couple of weeks ago.  A dried flower arrangement...

I just couldn't part with these lovely pink roses in the perfect hue, so I decided to make a floral arrangement with them.  I was inspired by this article on dried flowers in the January issue of Jeanne D'Arc Living magazine:

The arrangement looked so pretty and will far outlast fresh roses.  I simply placed the dried roses in a small vase inside this pretty metal pot.  I added water within the pot for my fresh baby's breath.  In time I'll remove the water once they've dried, too.

Just for fun, here's a vignette of paper flowers, too.  I don't have the greenest thumb so these looks suit me fine!
